Junior School/Nursery Updates

As I write this I am looking longingly at where the running track would normally be on the playing fields having just finished a morning with those children who are in school as their parents are engaged in ‘key work’. It would be fair to say that I always look forward to this term more than any other which makes it even more strange that I had a bit of a feeling of dread about coming back to a school term with our children spread far and wide.

But... then I started to look in my Inbox and see some of the photos sent to me of the children and families at home as well as some of the poems. This reminded me that the Academy heart is still beating strongly. I am seeing this in many places such when I look at all of the artwork posted on Homeroom, the stuff being completed on Showbie and in the photos sent. It has also been nice to pass some of you when I have been out on my bike in the local area. I have not had time to reply to everyone who has sent stuff in yet but I will do my best to do this over the next little while and please do keep your photos coming.

As well as looking after the children who are here and checking in with colleagues, my main task at the moment is reading over the annual summative reports for all of our Junior School children and these should be with parents within the next fortnight (hopefully sooner). My SLT colleagues and I are also looking ahead to the transition process as we look forward to next session.

In the meantime I hope that everyone has a safe and happy weekend.

Kind regards,

Mr Calder
