Mental Health Awareness Week at EA

This week EA is partaking in Mental Health Awareness Week (10-16 May 2021). The theme this year is Connecting with Nature. Research has found that connecting with nature can not only provide a coping mechanism for mental health but can also aid multiple health benefits.

One of the goals the Mental Health Foundation have set out for the week is to inspire more people to connect with nature in new ways while benefiting from the impact that it can have on their mental health.

As a result, we have been getting outside more and getting fresh air, with some classes being taken outside and activities involving different aspects of nature such as camping, hiking, and drawing outdoors.

Below are some photos of our 4ths Bronze Duke of Edinburgh groups who are out and about in Edinburgh. One of their goals for the walk is to take time out to have some quiet time enjoying the landscape and reconnecting with nature.

As the week goes on we will continue to immerse ourselves in the wonders of nature and reap the benefits that it brings.

Make sure you experience the outdoors and get plenty of fresh air for yourselves, and maybe share some photos to inspire others to join!
