Anna Hazel-Dunn

Anna has lived in Edinburgh for most of her life, attending South Morningside Primary, George Watson's College and the University of Edinburgh. She holds a Masters degree in the History of Art.
After spending 15 months travelling, Anna completed a PGDE in Primary teaching in 2003 and has worked in education her whole career. She started as a classroom teacher before moving to a Principal teacher roll and then a Head teacher, working in schools in Edinburgh, Fife and the Scottish Borders. Anna decided to make the move to a Depute Head teacher role and is currently thoroughly enjoying this new chapter, focussing on Early Years education, Pastoral support for Primary 1 to Primary 3 children and leading Support for Learning across the school.
Anna is a lover of nature and green spaces and is on the committee for the Friends of Burdiehouse Burn Valley Park. She was a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh for 3 years and is currently involved with the Commission for School Reform.
Anna is an avid traveller, having visited a plethora of countries around the world. She enjoys the outdoors, running, cycling, walking, reading, crocheting, going to gigs and spending time with family and friends.
