David has been Rector of Dollar Academy since 2010. As a boy he attended Morrison’s Academy. He holds an M.Phil in Education from the University of Exeter and joined Dollar from Hampton School in south-west London, where he taught mathematics for ten years, latterly becoming Deputy Headmaster. David has delivered national seminars on pastoral, disciplinary and cyber issues at HMC and ISBA conferences. He has a long record of support for a range of charities and worked closely with SHINE and ISSP in London, setting up programmes of educational support for disadvantaged youngsters. He is a trustee of HMC Projects in Eastern Europe and is a member of HMC’s Membership Committee. A keen sportsman, he is the Honorary Secretary of Tennis Central Scotland, chairs the HMC Steering Group on Youth and Schools Rugby in Scotland and runs the HMC T20 cricket competition. He plays the piano for relaxation.
