Bruce Beveridge

Bruce joined the Court of Directors in 2013 and served as Chairman of the Edinburgh Academy Foundation from December 2014 to December 2016. He has served as Chairman of the Wellbeing and Child Protection Committee since its inception in June 2015.

A Writer to Her Majesty’s Signet, he is currently Chairman of thinkWhere Ltd, a digital Geographic Information Systems business; from February 2017 he will take over as Chief Executive of the British Society of Animal Science. He served as President and Chairman of the Law Society of Scotland in 2013–4, and previously held a range of senior roles working for the UK and Scottish governments as well as spending some time in the golf industry. Educated at the Academy where he was a boarder, his rugby and cricket careers were cut short by illness though he became captain of golf and was also Head of Jeffrey House. Bruce was also educated at the High School of Dundee and New Park Preparatory School.
