Welcome to The Edinburgh Academy Nursery

A nurturing start to a lifelong love of learning. The Edinburgh Academy Nursery has, since 2009, been based in a purpose-built, award-winning building in Edinburgh, specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of young children.

Our highly experienced team of Early Years Practitioners, Nursery Teachers, and specialist educators in French, PE, and Music bring experience from all over Scotland, the UK, and Internationally. All professionals work in close partnership to provide a rich and balanced early education.

Every child receives the best possible start to their academic journey in a caring, stimulating, and supportive environment. Our recent report from the Care Inspectorate highlighted the compassion role modelled by the leadership team, and the warm and caring interactions with children and their families feeling welcomed and connected to staff.  Knowledgeable professionals not only support the child but welcome and support the whole family.

We follow an experiential, play-based curriculum, rooted in the principles of the Early Years Framework.

Our Outdoor Learning opportunities are particularly outstanding, with extensive all-weather play areas, garden plots, and innovative outdoor education initiatives setting us apart from other nurseries in Edinburgh. Due to high demand, early registration is strongly recommended.

We understand that transitioning from home to Nursery is a big step, and we take pride in offering a warm, child-centred approach for every family. It’s a joy and privilege to nurture children during these vital early years.
