Character Education
Developing Values-Driven, Resilient Young People
At The Edinburgh Academy, Character Education is a cornerstone of our approach. We place strong emphasis on empowering pupils to make the right decision at the right time for the right reasons—developing this ability incrementally throughout their school journey.
From the mountainside to the classroom, pupils engage in adventure learning experiences that go beyond skills and knowledge to focus on core values, ethical decision-making, and understanding the broader impact of their choices.
Through our Character and Adventure Education Programme, pupils explore how their behaviours are shaped by internal and external influences. We encourage every child to reflect on their values, align their actions accordingly, and cultivate a strong personal compass to guide them through life.
In today’s complex and ever-changing world, the ability to know oneself, manage mindset, and respond with resilience is essential for long-term wellbeing, happiness, and personal success.
At EA, we strive to create a safe, supportive environment—mentally, physically, and emotionally—where individuality is valued and innovation is encouraged. Character Education is the thread that connects every stage of our pupils' development and equips them to flourish with purpose and optimism.
