During the 2014–15 session, a thorough review and analysis of the School estate, particularly the Senior School site, took place, the results of which informed and guided the preparation of our master plan. It became clear very quickly, that in order for the School to successfully meet its strategic goals and ensure long-term sustainability, several areas required attention.
The Academy has never shied away from a challenge and we openly acknowledge that our objectives are ambitious. Between now and 2024 we intend to redevelop and extend the Library and James Clerk Maxwell Science Centre, add a new Modern Languages teaching block and Art Wing, refurbish the gym to house a brand new, state of the art Design Technology base, and open up the grounds by reconfiguring the teaching block and 6th & 7ths Study Centre running parallel to the Yards.
Given the scale of our aspirations we are primed for the challenges ahead; respecting the integrity and heritage of the estate, achieving fundraising goals, and, most importantly, minimising disruption to School life.
