The new James Clerk

How to use this site map
This page represents a schematic structure of our site. It begins with those sections that are common to all parts of the school, and then shows the separate sections for the nursery, junior school, senior school, and specialised agencies.
Individual pages are all hyper-linked except for those listed in red, which are still under construction. We apologise for the delay in publishing these pages.
What are you looking for?
This site is designed for a variety of different users. Not all its sections are likely to be directly relevant to your own particular needs.
Prospective parents or pupils may find the junior school prospectus or senior school prospectus pages most helpful as an introduction. More detailed planning may need a visit to the junior curriculum or senior curriculum pages whilst those aiming to visit the school may wish to consult the information on location.
A printed prospectus may be obtained by post.
Details of how to apply for a place or a scholarship are available in the admissions section.
Current pupils may also find value in the curriculum pages when it comes to making subject choices or obtaining guidance on work.
Current parents may find the news, junior information, senior information and sport pages helpful.
FAQs responses
There are several dozen pages of the site that are only called up from the junior or senior Frequently Asked Questions pages. To avoid cluttering up this site map all these pages have been omitted. To see the FAQs pages click here for Junior School FAQs or here for Senior School FAQs.
Weekly News
The Edinburgh Academy publishes its weekly news sheet on line. Again, to avoid clutter only the most recent news edition is shown in this site map. Earlier editions may be accessed through the news archive page.
If you get lost
Across the top of every page are the main section links. A link to this site map appears at the top and bottom of every page, and this site map contains links to all impportant pages in the first three levels of the site. If you do get lost you can get practically anywhere in two clicks by returning to the site map.
Site Search
At the top right of every page you will find a link to the site search engine. This is an internal system that searches only the pages of The Edinburgh Academy site.
It is not sufficiently sophisticated to cope with spelling mistakes or typographical errors, and it is not completely immune to missing things. However if you can't find what you're looking for and you think it ought to be here, the site search engine may help you find it.
RSS feeds
The site as a whole has an RSS feed to tell you when it has been updated. The Rector's Blog and the Headteacher's Blog have separate feeds. Right click on the orange button for the feed that you require, select "copy shortcut" and paste the URL into your RSS reader as an additional feed to monitor. If you do not have an RSS reader you will first need to download one that is suitable for the operating system of your machine. These are available free of charge.
