Parents' Evenings

Parents are invited to meet their son's teachers between 5.00 and 8.00 pm in the Dining Hall once a year. (It is of course always possible to arrange ad hoc interviews at other times.) The dates will be confirmed by the termly Calendar and by an invitation.

An appointment card is issued to the pupil about a week before the event, and he she is responsible for arranging suitable appointments with his teachers. Parents should ensure that their child knows when they expect to arrive. The idea of the appointment system is to avoid the need for queueing. It does of course mean that both teachers and parents must endeavour to stick to the appointed timings, since where teachers have long lists of appointments there may be few gaps and to attend at other times causes diruption to other parents.

In addition to subject teachers the rector and deputy rector wil usually be present, as will a member of the Court of Directors. No appointments are required for meetings with them.

The Rector will usually make a brief address to the gathering at 6.30pm, and this may be followed by specific comments from the appropriate year head.

Light refreshments will be available.
