“Twilight Classes” by Henry Marsh and George Harris
Here is the latest information about Autumn 2008 evening classes.
First of all we do apologise to those of you who were told in July that they would take place on Wednesday evenings. For all sorts of reasons they have had to be shifted back to Tuesdays. Presumably that will suit some people but be a nuisance to others; but we are sorry if you are inconvenienced by the change.
Henry will be talking about American literature, in particular “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne and “Beloved” by Toni Morrison. George will be dealing with various related themes from American history.
The programme will be:

As before the meetings will take place in Room 92 and start at 7.30pm, finishing as close to 9.00pm as we can manage. The fee for the full series of lectures will be £20.00. It is probably easiest if you simply bring the money to the first meeting.
So that we can have an idea of numbers, please register in advance with Laura Howie, in the School Office. If for any reason you fail to register, please do not be shy about turning up on Tuesday 7th anyway.
