School Sports Uniform

Further to my recent letter, I am happy to confirm that final arrangements have been agreed with Aitken & Niven and Clan House in order to transfer the supply of School sports uniform from Edinburgh Academy Enterprises to these alternative suppliers. With effect from Tuesday 17 th March, Edinburgh Academy Enterprises will cease to be the school supplier of School sports uniform. Aitken & Niven (Blackhall, Morningside and online www.aitken-niven.co.uk) and Clan House at both Morningside and Grove Street Stores will assume supply of all items upon transfer of stock to their shop units and it is anticipated that this may take several days to complete. We would envisage orders should be available to be taken from either supplier from Wednesday 18 th March and stock (subject to availability) from Friday 20 th March. From the first week of April 09 the entire sports uniform will available to buy on line at www.clanh.com.

I am sure that parents will be pleased to have confirmed, that through joint agreement, the existing retail price of sports uniform items will remain unchanged through to August 2010. This agreement has been put in place in order to support the future financial planning of families and to maintain the commitment of a cost-freeze when the sports uniforms were redesigned almost two years ago. I very much hope that the successful partnership with Aitken & Niven and Clan House, in terms of the supply of school uniform, will now include sports uniform items and I am confident that the convenience of a single supply point with more flexible opening hours, will be a benefit to families in the years ahead. As a final note, I wish to pay thanks to Edinburgh Academy Enterprises for all that they have successfully achieved in launching the rebranding of The Edinburgh Academy sports uniform over the last two years.
