Frequently asked questions
To help you find your way aboutWhether The Academy Junior School is your child's first school, or whether he or she has experience elsewhere, you may find that a school can be a confusing place. If you can put a name to your problem, you may find the answer by selecting from the menus above. Each name on the menu generates a pop-up page that explains Edinburgh Academy Junior School policies regarding the issue in question. Please note that some browsers have a default setting to block pop-ups and you may have to countermand this to see the answer pages. The purpose of this page is to provide a brief outline of the Academy's activities to you, and to answer your questions as the need arises. It does not, however, replace the most important source of information for pupils; namely teachers. If you are in doubt, especially if you are new, please ask; you will swiftly get help or explanation. |
Resources are nothing without you!The Academy is about people, not policies. Each member of the Academy deserves the support and encouragement of adults and pupils alike. In turn, a pupil is expected to give support and encouragement to others; never forget that they too have needs. The Academy provides a fine framework, in which each pupil can discover his or her strengths. However, it is a pupil's own determination and ambition which will bring success. It is important to set good targets in the classroom, in personal manners and in every activity. Your class teacher will be a first-class support if you have difficulties at any stage - but pupils should remember the need to build the trust and the goodwill in plenty of time, not just when you need them. Be positive, be optimistic, keep a ready smile. We are lucky to work in a wonderful school in a lovely city; we must earn our good fortune by giving of our best. |
