Edinburgh Academy's gateway to the city

Moving to Edinburgh?

As Edinburgh's leading independent school, we thought that it might be useful to put together some information for those who might be contemplating a move to Edinburgh, either for themselves and their families or for their children as boarders.

Edinburgh is justly famous for its romantic history, immortalised by one of the founders of our school Sir Walter Scott. Edinburgh is nowadays also renowned for its Festival and its financial services industry.

But how do you find out what it is really like? What sorts of facilities does it have? What is it like to live in Edinburgh, and how can you find out about housing and so on?

Let us try to help you find your way around.
