Ben Dean

The Edinburgh Academy is a school I have followed closely over a number of years. From the appointment of Caroline Bashford as Head of the Junior School, the move to coeducation and the appointment of Marco Longmore as Rector. All I felt were signs that this school was an exciting place to be and one which is most definitely moving forward.
I was Assistant Director of a school on the Sunshine Coast in Australia called St Andrew's Anglican College. This was a wonderful school and one that offered many learning experiences. It let me and my family experience an outdoor life we had dreamed about.
Prior to this I was the Assistant Head of the Junior School at George Watson's College, where I spent many happy years.
As a family we felt it was time to return to Scotland and the opportunity to become Deputy Head of the Junior School here at Edinburgh Academy was one I could not overlook. It is such an exciting position and I look forward to all the challenges it will bring. To be part of a school that has so much history and such a bright future is a privilege.
