Scholarships and Financial Support
ScholarshipsThe main vehicle for financial support for fees lies in our means tested Bursary Scheme. Scholarship awards are made primarily with the purpose of promoting and recognising high achievement in academic life and other school disciplines. Awards can be supplemented by bursaries to the value of full school fees subject to proven financial need and the terms of our Bursaries Scheme outlined on the right. Scholarships are offered each year to candidates of particular merit who demonstrate through assessment and then through their future application and progress, the highest standards of achievement. Scholarships are open to both internal and external candidates. The Scholarship Examinations are held annually in January and February. Before this, a report is sought from the candidate’s present school, where applicable. Scholarships are awarded to those who perform exceptionally well in the Scholarship assessment. Scholarship application forms for Art, Music and Sport, should be returned to the Admissions Registrar by Wednesday 13 January 2010. We regret that late applications for the Scholarship Examination cannot be accepted. Please note that all Scholarships Awards made by the School are discretionary and subject to annual review. If candidates do not show continued application, interest and benefit arising from their award category the benefit may be withdrawn. |
Bursaries and Financial Support for FeesThe School aims to support those pupils who might otherwise be unable, given their family’s financial circumstances, to benefit from an Academy education. Funds are therefore made available to offer financial support to pupils whose family may not otherwise be in a position to consider the school. Such awards are targeted towards those applications which offer the greatest potential for life-enhancing opportunities, and will be financially reviewed on an annual basis. The following process for application will apply:
We emphasise that the aim of this support is to help families who genuinely cannot afford the full cost of an Academy education. To that end funding may be available up to 100% of full fee. However no guarantee of assistance can be made. The Academy must ensure that it operates within prudent financial parameters. Support for fees is awarded on the basis of the award of a place at the school and satisfactory completion of the financial means form with provision of supporting documentation. |
