General Information
Tuition fees at The Edinburgh Academy are normally reviewed annually in April, and any increase is applied from the start of the summer term.
Lunch charges are reviewed in August each year.
Termly school fees are payable in advance by monthly or termly direct debit.
Extras: The account for extras such as books or trips is rendered at the end of each term.
Please note that we are obliged to charge Interest on late payment of fees since these damage the school's cash flow and oblige us to incur extra costs.
Registration Fee: A registration fee of £20 should accompany the enrolment form.
Pupil Deposit: A deposit of £150 is required to be paid (£50 for Nursery pupils), along with the completed acceptance form. This will be refunded on your son/daughter’s last term’s outlay bill
Brothers and sisters in the school
Where three or more brothers or sisters are in attendance at the Academy at the same time, a reduction of one-third of the fees is made in respect of the third and subsequent child. Full fees continue to be payable for the first two children. We regret that we are not able to offer discounts for nursery classes
Nursery Funding
For those parents considering Nursery education, the school participates in the Partnership Providing Programme with Edinburgh City Council. This means that parents can claim the government funding that allows every child pre-school and ante-pre-school nursery provision. For more details please contact the
.
Bursaries
There are available certain bursaries to help deserving pupils already in the school to continue their education at the Academy when, through unforeseen circumstances, parents find it difficult or impossible to pay the full fees. Awards are made by the Directors after consideration of each case.
Fees for 2008 - 9
The Court, as always, has endeavoured to keep the fee increase to the minimum and we
continue to keep a very close eye on all controllable costs. However, a number of costs
particularly energy costs have escalated significantly in the last year and this has to be
reflected in our fees, which are listed below.
You will be aware of forthcoming developments to extend and improve the facilities at the
School: at the Junior School, work on site for the replacement Nursery and After School
facility will start this month; the Junior School all weather playing field will be built during
the summer; at the Senior School, in advance of receipt of planning permission, clearance
of the former Physics Department and the Basement has begun in preparation for new
toilets, changing facilities, a multi purpose area and other facilities; and, subject to receipt
of planning permission, at New Field, the first all weather hockey pitch will be built this
summer. With these and other projects, the details of which are being developed, the
School will be well placed both to support the wider introduction of co-education and to
maintain the Academy’s standards.
