The Primary 4s went to the Edinburgh Sculpture workshop in June, and in a two and a half hour workshop, met Sculptor David Sherry, and Learning Coordinator Debi Banerjee, who introduced the theme of sculpture and structures, through a slideshow and discussion.
The children looked at sculptures and discussed what sculpture could mean, and worked in groups on large drawings. After presenting their ideas to each other, they went into the workshop and learned some techniques in joining and connecting pieces of cardboard. They worked together to realise their ideas, and used Modroc and paint to complete their wonderful creations.
The pieces and their drawings are now on display in our Art room in the Junior School.
