More than Grades

The educational journey at the Academy is not just about grades. We prepare our pupils for life after school by creating well-rounded individuals with diverse interests. This practice leads to happier lives and healthier members of society.

Both schools offer a number of extensive and varied activities, clubs and societies and EA pupils do not limit themselves to only core academic subjects. They are encouraged to pursue and strengthen other passions. A pupil may excel in Physics, Hockey and Drama; or be a profoundly sensitive painter, cellist and mathlete.

In treating each child as an individual, we have a proud tradition of educating young people who tread their own path. In this manner, our pupils build on the legacy of Scottish innovation with successful careers in areas as diverse as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, government, law, finance, arts, media, drama, music, literature and sport.

As a collective the Junior School alone has donated an average of £15,000 to charity per annum for over 10 years and the whole school is the proud holder of the Green Flag for eco awareness. This year, Senior School pupils participated in The Wee Sleep Out with local social enterprise Social Bite and raised £10,220 to fight homelessness.
